New Information for Builders & Electricians

Application Form

Effective immediately, electricians will be required to submit an application for connection of technology services.

This form can be faxed to MBC on 9965 9966, either by the builder or the electrician.

The electrician must sign the application form and this application form represents a certification by the electrician that the pre-provisioning work is complete and ready for connection.

Certified Seacrest Installers

We want to acknowledge good work by installers, so once we visit three consecutive conforming installations by any one electrician we will be recording the individual electrician as an approved Seacrest Technology Installer. We will be issuing that person with a certification certificate and providing no defects are recorded against the individual, these certificates will be renewed annually.

Seacrest Technology Pre-Provisioning

General Explanation

WestNet is the Technology Services Provider at the Seacrest Estate. Mitchell & Brown Communications (MBC) is contracted by Seacrest Corporation to carry out the Provisioning for WestNet. ie: To install Fibre Optic cable and cable TV services into the communications cabinet for each house on the estate. MBC is also responsible for supplying the communications cabinet and connections within the cabinet.

When any new Lot is sold at Seacrest Estate it is a condition of the Offer and Acceptance (associated with the Technology Package) that a minimum amount of Pre-Provisioning is carried out when building a new home. This Pre-Provisioning, (which in most cases should be included in the building contract) must be completed before the customer can claim their $2,100 Technology Rebate. (Details of Technology Package attached Page 8)

Television

Free to Air Television

As there is a caveat on TV & Radio Antennas and Satellite Dishes, local free to air television, plus SBS will be provided via cable, free of charge. If the customer has not installed a communications panel, the free to air television cable will be connected to a connection point on the house adjacent to the meter box.

Service Difficulties

Seacrest Corporation will endeavour to provide continuity of service 24 hours per day. The Pay TV signal is dependent on local satellite service and the signal may become unstable in adverse weather conditions.

The standard ‘free to air signal’ ABC, GWN and WIN is backed up by terrestrial service and should remain constant whilst the signal is being transmitted locally.
